Why?

As my first post might suggest, I started this blog as part of a New Year’s Resolution to write more. Why write more? Just to practice writing itself and to think deeply and logically about a few select topics (rather than passively absorbing a million things a day via radio, podcasts, Twitter, Facebook, etc.). We’ll see if I can live up to these goals! And thanks for reading!

Oh, you probably want to know where the name of this blog came from. Well, it’s a pun, because I love puns. I’m not sure of the original source, but I discovered it while listening to the Prairie Home Companion joke show one afternoon in the car. It goes like this:

Sherlock Holmes walks into his office with a big box of lemons. Watson asks, “Holmes, where’d you get all that fruit?” Holmes replies, “A lemon tree, my dear Watson.”
